Tuberculous meningitis (TBM) is the most severe form of tuberculosis. Early clinical diagnosis is difficult and microbiological confirmation is rare, leading to delayed treatment, resulting in considerable morbidity and mortality. The GeneXpert MTB/RIF test was evaluated in suspected cases of tuberculosis meningitis.
