Mucormycosis (Zygomycosis) is a rare, opportunistic fungal infection caused by mucorales, belonging to the class of zygomycete. Depending on the immunological status of the patient, the disease may manifest in different ways depending on the affected site as rhino - cerebral, rhino - orbital, pulmonary, cutaneous, gastrointestinal, central nervous system or disseminated forms.
